The Condor at Wildwood: Still Soaring, Not Removed
The Condor ride at Morey's Piers (Wildwood, NJ) was NOT removed. As of 2024, it remains in operation—a classic HUSS Condor tower ride on Surfside Pier.
Ride Profile
- Type: HUSS Condor (vertical lift/tower)
- Height: ~200 ft (61 m)
- Experience: Slow ascent, brief hold at top, rapid descent (free-fall sensation).
- Capacity: 24 riders (gondola seats 4×6)
- Location: Surfside Pier (northernmost pier), near the Giant Wheel.
Why the Confusion?
- Wildwood's piers constantly evolve: rides relocated, renamed, replaced (e.g., Great Nor'easter, Sea Serpent, Kang'a Bounce).
- Other parks removed Condors (e.g., Hersheypark 2022, Six Flags Great Adventure 2023).
- Social media rumors spread faster than facts.
Current Status (2024 Season)
- Operating daily in season (May–September).
- Height requirement: 48" (with adult), 54" (alone).
- Included in wristband / combo tickets.
Wildwood's Other Iconic Rides
- Giant Wheel (156 ft, 1985)
- Great Nor'easter (B&M inverted coaster, 1995)
- Sea Serpent (Vekoma suspended looping coaster, 1984)
- Kang'a Bounce (Zamperla Jump Around, 2023)
- Log Flume, Pirate's Cove, Ferris Wheel (classics)
Next time you're on the boards, look up at Surfside Pier—The Condor is still there, lifting riders above the Atlantic.
