When Jones died in 1775, the grand estate began to deteriorate. Restoration efforts began in the 1800s. Today the grounds are considered an official Georgia historical site. Guests can picnic on the premises or embark on a nature trail, which includes a walk past the home’s remaining ruins. The site features a museum and gift shop as well.
