Who were the first settlers at Stonehenge?

Stonehenge was not created by settlers, but rather constructed by prehistoric people during the Neolithic and Bronze Ages. The first major phase of construction at Stonehenge began around 3000 BC with the erection of the first henge, a circular ditch and bank. This was followed by the construction of the first bluestones, which were transported from the Preseli Hills in Wales, about 250 miles away. The final phase of construction occurred around 2500 BC with the erection of the large sarsen stones, which were brought from the Marlborough Downs, about 20 miles away.
