Train Tours in the United States

Train travel is a great way to see the amazing sites our country has to offer. With a variety of train routes and packages, you can plan a trip that suits your travel expectations. Some of the tours take place on antique trains so you can experience the past as you make your way across the great American landscape.
  1. Amtrak

    • "The National Railroad of the United States," Amtrak's routes run throughout the United States, passing through some of the most scenic areas of our country. Popular routes, like the Capitol Unlimited, take you from our nation's capitol to Chicago. Amtrak has a variety of routes and vacation packages to choose from.

    The Black Hills Central Railroad

    • The Black Hills of western South Dakota offers a scenic route aboard the railroad's 1880 train. This vintage steam train will take you through "the scenic hills between Hill City and Keystone." Just over two hours, this trip not only offers great sights, but is an educational glance into our nation's history.

    The Alaska Railroad

    • The Alaska Railroad runs through the vast and amazing landscapes of Alaska. Spanning "over 500 miles," this train system traverses the state, offering spectacular views of one of the last great frontiers. While trains run daily during the summer months, be aware that during the winter months service is only on weekends.
