- Among tour operator Rick Steves' options is the Family Best of Europe in 14 Days package. This package includes special consideration for those traveling with kids between 8 and 17. The tour begins in Rome and travels trough Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France. Included in the tour is transportation between the cities, group sightseeing events and the cost of all breakfasts and half of the dinners. Families are cautioned that Rick Steves' tours are physically strenuous and travelers should enjoy waking up early to see the sights and not mind standing or walking for long periods. - For those looking for a different way to see the sights of Europe, a European river cruise might be the perfect option. AMA tours last from nine to 30 days River cruises have the additional bonus of allowing guests to see small towns as well as large cities as they travel the waterways.
