Instructions

    • 1

Remove window treatments as well as anything else that is not tacked down. Travel trailers do not have a lot of space, so removing things will make it easier to work.

    • 2

Paint the walls. Many old travel trailers have outdated wall coverings and paint is the easiest and quickest way to refresh the trailer. Tape drop cloths over the kitchen area and on the floor. Use a paintbrush and paint roller to cover the walls with the paint.

Reupholster the dinette area. Carefully remove the currently upholstery by removing the staples with a set of pliers. Use a marker to mark on the removed upholstery where it belongs on the dinette. Trace around the old pieces of fabric upholstery on new fabric with the marker. Cut out the upholstery with scissors and staple it into place over the old cushions with a staple gun.

Install a new peel and stick vinyl tile floor. Remove old carpeting and carpet tack strips with a pry bar and pair of pliers. Sweep the floor and make sure it is level. Begin installing the tiles along the longest flat wall in the trailer. Remove the paper from the back of the tiles and press them firmly into place. Use a pair of scissors to cut the tiles to size as necessary.
