Irish Singles Holidays

Traveling in Ireland solo can be a rewarding experience. Coach tours are the most popular as the island is small enough to be traveled in a week while visiting some of the many cultural and historical sights that Ireland has to offer. The famous Irish hospitality means that chatting to the natives in their favourite watering hole and enjoying dancing, drinking and music is a major part of any vacation to Ireland.
  1. Solitair Ireland Tour

    • Ireland has many old castles and historical sites.

Solitair, a company dedicated to singles tours, offers a seven day coach tour of Ireland, taking in lots of famous Irish attractions. Flying to Dublin from London, the tour visits the Rock of Cashel, Killarney, the Ring of Kerry, the Dingle Peninsula, the Burren, Galway city and the Fair City itself, Dublin. Prices do not include connecting flights from the US to London but are based on 3 star hotel single occupancy rooms, Irish breakfast everyday and entrance fees to visited sites. Prices are about $1450 per person, depending on the exchange rate, and can be booked online on the Solitair website.

    Hiking in Ireland

    • Ireland has many scenic hiking trails and mountain climbs.

For a firsthand view of Ireland's scenery, a hiking holiday is ideal. Joyce's Ireland, a company dedicated to walking and hiking tours, runs one week or two week-long tours from Shannon, Dublin and Galway. Costing from $2099 to $4899, not including flights, the tours allow singles to mingle and get to know their fellow hikers in a 16 seat minibus. Breakfasts and packed lunches are included along with 3 or 4 star hotel accommodation, and singles are paired for accommodation if possible. Holidays can be booked online.

    Lisdoonvarna

    • Clare remains a traditional and quiet area of Ireland.

For those singles who are interested in being a double, the matchmaking festival held in September in Lisdoonvarna is not to be missed. Celebrated annually in County Clare, Lisdoonvarna attracts thousands of people looking for love and to be matched by Clare's only remaining matchmaker, Mr. Willie Daly. Lisdoonvarna is also a spa town with a Victorian Spa Centre for when the dancing and craic (a term used to mean "fun" or "entertainment") gets too much for the revellers. Hotels in the town include the Rathbaun Hotel, from 65 euro for single occupancy, and the Royal Spa Hotel whose rooms are from 70 euro to 95 euro per night. The nearest international airport is Shannon, but Cork and Dublin airports are less than three hours away by train or bus.
