Sun Holidays (sunholidaytours.com) offers a variety of tours to several international locations, including Ireland. The Emerald Isle has a lot to offer even the most discerning tourist, including history, culture, outdoor activities and sightseeing. Sun Holidays has tailored its tours with these preferences in mind. Prices and lengths of tours also vary to accommodate different budgets and time constraints. Tour prices include some meals, transportation and lodging but not airfare.

    Nine-Day Tours

    • The Irish Pub and Folk tour incudes a tour of a whiskey distillery.

Sun Travel offers two nine-day tours focused on sightseeing and culture. The first, called Irish Spirit, is a tour for the sightseeing traveler. Following the same route as the seven-day "Taste of Ireland" itinerary, this tour focuses on panoramas and photo opportunities. If it's the culture of Ireland that interests you, try the Irish Pub and Folk Tour. As the name suggests, this tour will take you to distilleries, various pubs, a horse stud farm, famous castles and the birthplace of Irish coffee. The Irish Legends Tour includes some of the same legendary sights, as well as the Aran Islands and a lavish farewell dinner in Dunboyne Castle. 11 Days or More

    • Cultural tours of Ireland often include the illuminated Book of Kells.

The only 11-day tour offered by Sun Holidays in Ireland is called the Irish Explorer, and it's a mix of culture and adventure, including museums, the Book of Kells, the Old Jameson Distillery, neolithic tombs and a pottery factory. Two 13-day tours, the Irish Classic and Irish Odyssey, are also combinations of culture, history and sightseeing, incorporating the itinerary of the shorter tours into a single two-week journey. The one 15-day tour, called Jewels of Ireland, focuses on sightseeing and history, with extensive tours of famous castles, museums and churches. Be prepared to pay anywhere from $1,600 to $2,500 per person for these extended tours.
