Europe is one of the western world's busiest tourist locations. Several tour companies specialize in LGBT travel for couples, providing tours based on activities and common interests, and taking in some of the region's most historic destinations.

    • A gay and lesbian-oriented tour company, Hermes Tours, features an 11-day "Irish Wonderland" trip. The tour starts in Dublin where participants are taken on visits to Trinity College, Dublin Castle and St. Patrick's Cathedral. The following days are spent traveling by land through Enniskerry and Kilkenny proceeding through the country to Shannon. Among the tour stops are the Glendalough Monastery, Kilkenny Castle and Kylemore Abbey. Tour fees include overnight accommodation, tour guide services throughout the trip, hotel taxes, tips and luggage handling. All land transportation and some meals and entrance fees are also included. Airfare, meals and activities not on the itinerary are not covered. Each couple is eligible for a $200 savings when booking five months or more in advance.

    Cycle Through Tuscany

    • A week long bike trip though Tuscany in Italy brings guests past some of the most well-known monuments and attractions in the area. Open to gay and lesbian couples, the Cycle Through Tuscany tour begins in Florence, home to Michelangelo's David statue, as well as a many of museums, theaters and historic locations. The following days are spent biking through the Chianti region, known for its wild landscapes and Chianti wine. A two day stop in Radda provides guests with an opportunity to walk or bike to nearby towns, villages and castles. The medieval village of Volpaia is just a few minutes' walk away, and the castles at Meleto and Brolio are just a short bike ride.     The Passion and Romance of Andalucia

    • Presented by DaSi Tours, a Spanish travel company that specializes in gay and lesbian travel, the Andalucia package is a 10 day trek through some of Spain's most romantic locations. The tour begins in Madrid with some sightseeing before moving on to Seville, the most important town in Andalucia. The region is home to historic haciendas and a colorful countryside filled with olive trees; it is also the region where bulls are raised for bull fights. The tour continues through the cities of Cordoba, Granada and ends on the beaches of the Costa del Sol. Visitors are permitted plenty of time to relax and enjoy the sites, as well as swim, snorkel and sunbathe on the beach. The Costa del Sol is just minutes from the city of Malaga, which provides an active nightlife, and features many lesbian-friendly venues. As of May 2010, the cost of the tour per person starts at $2,695 and includes airport transfers, hotel stays and a tour guide where applicable. Also included are a daily buffet breakfast, a welcome dinner and all entry fees at scheduled stops.
