Bus Tours of Coastal New England

For a really relaxing vacation, many travelers let someone else do the driving and opt for a group tour by deluxe bus. The New England coast is just one of the many destinations travelers can choose from. Bus tours travel the coastline from Rhode Island through Massachusetts and New Hampshire to Maine. Some tours even extend up to the Canadian Maritime provinces. Trips range in length from one day to almost two weeks.

    • Globus is a U.S.-based company that offers tours around the world, including the eastern seaboard of the United States. Their New England coast tour starts in Boston, and then heads up to Canada. Another tour concentrates on Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including visits to nearby islands by ferry.

    Collette Vacations

    • Collette Vacations' bus tours of the New England coastline concentrate on Rhode Island and Massachusetts. One tour starts in Providence, Rhode Island, then heads up to Boston and down to Plymouth, where the Pilgrims first touched land in 1620, and Cape Cod. They also have a tour extending into the Maritime Provinces.

    Trafalgar

    • Trafalgar also has a tour which starts in Boston, then heads up to the Maritime Provinces. On the way back, it stops in Maine for a visit to Arcadia National Park, New England's only national park. The tour ends in Bar Harbor, with transportation back to Boston provided.

    Gray Line

    • For travelers short on time, Gray Line offers bus trips by the day from out of Newport, Rhode Island, and Boston. Day trips from Boston include to Plymouth Plantation, a recreation of Plymouth village back in 1627, and to Marblehead which is the birthplace of the American Navy
