How many people died and succeded on mount everest?

As of May 2022, there have been 311 reported deaths on Mount Everest. Of the 311 deaths, 223 occurred on the Nepal side of the mountain and 88 occurred on the Tibet side. The majority of deaths (64%) occur during the ascent, with the most dangerous section being the "death zone" above 8,000 meters (26,247 feet). The main causes of death are altitude sickness, avalanches, falls, and exposure.

In addition to the deaths, there have been over 6,000 successful summits of Mount Everest. The first successful summit was achieved in 1953 by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. Since then, over 4,000 people have reached the summit, with the most successful year being 2018 when 807 people reached the top.

The success rate of Mount Everest expeditions has increased dramatically in recent years, due to advances in equipment, technology, and training. However, Everest remains a dangerous mountain and there is always the risk of death.
