St. Petersburg to Tampa: No Bridge, But Plenty of Options

No bridge directly connects St. Petersburg (Pinellas County) and Tampa (Hillsborough County)—Tampa Bay separates them, ~25 miles wide at its broadest.

How to Cross

• Car: I-275 via Sunshine Skyway Bridge (south) or Gandy Blvd / Courtney Campbell Causeway (north). 30–45 min.
• Bus: PSTA Route 100X (express) or 300X; ~1 hr.
• Ferry: Cross-Bay Ferry (downtown St. Pete ↔ Tampa Convention Center), 50 min, seasonal.
• Rideshare: Uber/Lyft ~$35–$55.

The Howard Frankland Bridge (I-275) is the main artery—currently being replaced with a new 8-lane span including express transit lanes (completion ~2026).
