British Colonial Rule in Nigeria: Impact on Hausa-Fulani, Igbo, and Yoruba

There is no evidence that British rule worked better for the Hausa-Fulani than for the Igbo or Yoruba. All three groups experienced both benefits (administrative reforms, education) and harms (colonial imposition, resource exploitation, unequal power). Internal opinions varied widely within each group. It is inaccurate to claim one group fared better under British governance.
