How many unexploded land mines in Namibia?

There are approximately 1 million unexploded land mines in Namibia. These mines were planted during the Namibian War of Independence (1966-1989) by both the South African and Namibian forces. Since the end of the war, the Namibian government has been working to clear the mines, but it is a slow and dangerous process.
