Who made the decision to Palestine into two countries?

The decision to partition Palestine into two states, one Jewish and one Arab, was made by the United Nations General Assembly on November 29, 1947. The resolution, known as Resolution 181, was adopted by a vote of 33 to 13, with 10 abstentions. The resolution called for the creation of a Jewish state and an Arab state in Palestine, with Jerusalem to be placed under international control. The partition plan was rejected by the Arab leadership and led to the 1948 Arab–Israeli War.
