Why godavari flows from west to east?

Godavari does not flow from West to East. It originates in the Brahmagiri hills in Maharashtra and flows in the South Eastern direction. It is one of the longest rivers in India with a length of over 1,450 kilometers. The river basin is spread over an area of about 313,000 square kilometers.
