Is Thai the same as Chinese?
Thai and Chinese are not the same language. Thai is a tonal language in the Tai-Kadai family of languages, while Chinese is a Sino-Tibetan language. Although both are tonal languages, they have different tones and the pronunciations of their words differ. Additionally, the writing system of Thai is based on the Indic scripts of India and Nepal, whereas Chinese characters are logographic, using symbols to represent words and ideas.
