Saudi Arabia's Landscape: Deserts and Mountains

Most of Saudi Arabia is desert. The Rub' al Khali (Empty Quarter) covers much of the south, extending into Oman and Yemen (≈650,000 km²). Other deserts include Ad Dahna (east) and Nafud (north). The far southwest features the Hijaz Mountains, with Jabal Sawda (3,133 m) as the highest peak.
