"Shanghai Florida" Doesn't Exist—They're 8,000+ Miles Apart

Two Unrelated Places

• Shanghai – Megacity (26M) in China, East Asia.
• Florida – Peninsula state (22M) in USA, Southeast North America.

Distance

~8,500 miles (13,700 km) great-circle. Flight: 18–22 hrs (1–2 stops). No direct flights.

Why the Confusion?

• Autocomplete / typo.
• "Shanghai" used metaphorically for "far away."
• No US place named Shanghai, Florida.

If you need distance between Shanghai, China and a Florida city (e.g., Miami), specify. Otherwise, they're on different continents.
