Why does the United States owes china so much money?
It is not true that the United States owes China a significant amount of money. China is actually the largest holder of U.S. Treasury securities, but this does not mean that the U.S. owes money to China. The U.S. Treasury securities that China holds are essentially loans that China has made to the U.S. government. In other words, China has lent money to the U.S., and the U.S. has agreed to pay China back this money plus interest at a later date. This is a common practice between countries, and it does not necessarily mean that the U.S. economy is in trouble or that it is under any undue influence from China.
