What was the major way Buddhism spread to East and Southeast Asia?
Buddhism was spread mostly by travelers and merchants along the trading routes during India's Golden Age between the third century BCE and third century CE. The major land-based route went north overland, and the other route was the marine-based silk route across the South China Sea.
