Who ruled Mongolia?

The Mongol Empire was ruled by a series of Great Khans, starting with Genghis Khan. Genghis Khan's empire was divided among his sons, and subsequently his grandsons, who ruled over the various khanates that emerged from the empire. The Mongol Empire reached its peak under the reign of Kublai Khan, who established the Yuan Dynasty in China and ruled over much of Asia.
