Viking River Cruises in China

Viking River Cruises offers several opportunities to explore exotic China. Most of the company's tours start in Beijing. After a flight to Xi'an to see the famous Terra Cotta Warriors, the tours stop in Chongqing for a 6-to-11 day cruise down the Yangtze River. The tours end in Shanghai, the financial capital and the largest city in China. The itinerary also can be reversed.
  1. Imperial Jewels of China

    • This 12-day Viking River Cruises tour starts with three days in Beijing, where tourists visit to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall at Badaling and the Ming Tombs at Chanping. Then it's on to an overnight stop in Xi'an to see the Terra Cotta Warriors. An afternoon flight to Chongqing precedes a six-day cruise down China's most famous river, the Yangtze. During the cruise, the ship goes through the Three Gorges, where the world's largest dam is being built. There's a stop to tour the dam, and then a cruise by smaller boat through the Lesser Three Gorges. There are also stops at two small towns. The cruise ends in Wuhan, where passengers fly to Shanghai for a quick tour before going home.
