The Genting Highlands region of Malaysia offers visitors a resort experience high atop a hill in the Titiwangsa Mountains. Nearly all of the Genting Highlands area is taken up by Resorts World Genting, a massive entertainment resort with attractions for the whole family. While most attractions are within the resort, a number of other attractions outside of the resort area are worth checking out.
Resorts World Genting has two theme park attractions at the heart of the resort. The First World Indoor Theme Park includes a high-speed roller coaster, bumper cars and a 4D virtual simulation experience. For young kids, the park has a mini train, miniature bumper cars and a carousel. At SnowWorld, experience a winter wonderland-themed indoor park where it's the holiday season year-round in the Winter Downtown and World Heritage Concept area. Guests can indulge in pastries from the French baker or a treat from the Swiss chocolate shop after partaking in sledding and snowball fights in the snow play area.
Resort World Genting is one of the few places in Malaysia where you can legally gamble. Casino de Genting is a classic casino with table games such as roulette, blackjack, poker and baccarat as well as a variety of slot machines and electric table games. The resort also has a large auditorium, Arena of the Stars, where a variety of entertainment is found nightly, including local, regional and international music acts, theatrical performances, magicians, and dancers.
Resorts World Genting is home to a 28-lane bowling alley with high-tech video screens and offers late-night glow-in-the-dark bowling. You can also test your gaming skills at the Video Games Park, which includes a separate area full of adventure video simulation games; or experience indoor sky diving at Sky Venture, a specialized wind tunnel that simulates the feeling of real sky diving without having to jump out of an airplane. Other resort attractions include an 18-hole golf course and an outdoor ropes course.
Genting has a number of worthy attractions outside of Resorts World, including the ornate Chin Swee Caves Temple, which has a number of shrines and a giant Buddha. You can hand pick your own juicy, ripe strawberries at the Strawberry Leisure Farm. The farm also has vegetables you can harvest yourself, including bean sprouts and mushrooms. After purchasing your produce, enjoy strawberry treats at the farmhouse cafe, including strawberry smoothies and chocolate-dipped strawberries. You can also enjoy a scenic ride up to Resorts World Genting on the 1/2-mile long Genting Skyway Cable Car ride, which departs from the small town of Gohtong Jaya.
