Travel by air. Singapore Changi International Airport is one of Southeast Asia's largest aviation hubs and offers many international connections. Malaysia Airlines connects Singapore with Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Langkawi, Miri and Penang in Malaysia. Singapore Airlines also offers direct flights to Kuala Lumpur. Air Asia connects the country with several destinations in Malaysia, including Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Langkawi, Miri and Penang. FireFly, Jetstar Asia, Sri Lankan Airlines, SilkAir and Tiger Airways also provide direct flights to Kuala Lumpur and other destinations in Malaysia from Singapore.
Travel by rail. Malaysian Railways network terminates at Singapore. Two day trains and a daily sleeper service operate from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore. A day train and daily sleeper train travel along the Jungle Railway that connects Singapore with Gua Musang and Tumpat on the east coast of Malaysia.
Travel by road. Malaysia can be reached from Singapore via two land crossings. The Causeway connects the north of Singapore with Johor Bahru, Malaysia, while the less congested Second Link connects western Singapore with Tanjung Kupang in Malaysia. Travelers can take a taxi or car between both countries using these road links. A number of bus companies provide direct links from Singapore to Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur. Buses depart from different points in the city as Singapore has no central bus terminal. Handal Indah, also known as a Causeway Link, provides regular service between Singapore and Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Bus operators to Kuala Lampur and other cities in Malaysia range from full-service (which can include on-board meals) to no-frills service. Companies include Aeroline, First Coach, NiCE, Transnasional and Transtar.
Travel by ferry. Ferries link Singapore with Indonesia and Malaysia's Johor state. Singapore has four ferry terminals that provide international services, including HarbourFront Centre (formerly World Trade Centre) near the Central Business District. Other services depart from the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, the Changi Ferry Terminal and the Changi Point Ferry Terminal. Affordable ferry services travel from Singapore to the ports of Desaru and Pengerang.
