How did the aborigines affect Australia when they discovered it?
Aboriginal people are believed to have arrived in Australia more than 50,000 years ago. It is believed they traveled across the Torres Strait land bridge from New Guinea.
European settlement of Australia occurred much more recently, with the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788. As a result, it was the British colonization of Australia that affected the region rather than the arrival of the aborigines.
