The Eagles Nest, on the shore Moosehead Lake offers a two bedroom cottage with a fully equipped kitchen and a queen sized bed. A number of cottages are located directly on the lake. During the winter months enjoy snowmobiling, cross country skiing and ice fishing by just stepping out of your cottage door. The rate for a two bedroom cottage is $80 per day for two people, with a weekly rate of $500, as of January, 2011. During the months of July, August and November, a weekly rental is required, but the rest of the year a two night minimum is required.
The land in Orrington, Maine, home of Loon Hollow Cottages, has been in the same family for over 70 years. Owners Linda and Syl boast handcrafted furniture and paintings throughout the property. The lake is warm, spring-fed water perfect for swimming as well as fishing. Loon Lake asks for a deposit of 50 percent of the total cabin rental, plus $200 one month before your scheduled stay. Only cash, checks and money orders are accepted. Reservations are made by contacting the owners directly via telephone or e-mail. Pets are only allowed by advance agreement.
Hosts Ron and Bonnie Searles offer eight cottages located on Moosehead Lake. Each two bedroom cottage is fully furnished, with a screened porch for outdoor relaxation. Rockwood offers hiking, swimming and has canoe rental available for $25 per day, or $150 per week. Cottage rentals are $90 per day, or $540 per week for a two person stay, as of January, 2011. A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of reservation and full balance is due upon arrival. Pets are allowed for a charge of $5 per day.
Lyons Lakeside Cabins offers five cabins situated on Rangley Lake, just 4 miles from Rangley Village. The cabins are furnished and offer cleaning supplies, but each guest needs to provide their own utensils. Canoes and kayaks are available to guests free of charge. Rates for two person cabins are $110 per night from April 1 through Nov. 30, and $135 per night from Dec. 1 through March 31. Weekly rates remain at $700 per week throughout the year, as of January, 2011.
