The dunes on Fraser Island in Queensland, offer privacy for nudists. However, you cannot visit the island without first securing a permit, either from the National Parks office at Rainbow Beach or the Forestry Department in Brisbane. A barge from Rainbow Beach can take you to the island. You will need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to reach Fraser Island. Follow Bruce Highway from Gympie to Rainbow Beach. Let the air out of your tires to compensate for the sand, and drive the beach until you reach the barge terminal at Inskip Point. Remember, nudity is officially illegal in Queensland. So, if you decide to go nude, be sure to have some clothes to don should the authorities arrive.
