Were Upper Canada and Lower called Ontario Quebec at the time of Confederation?

Upper Canada and Lower Canada were not jointly referred to as Ontario and Quebec at the time of Confederation.

Upper Canada and Lower Canada were two separate provinces within British North America. In 1867, the British Parliament passed the British North America Act, which united the provinces of Canada, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia into a single dominion, known as Canada. At this time, Upper Canada was renamed Ontario and Lower Canada was renamed Quebec.
