The tallest building in Montreal is 1250 René-Lévesque Boulevard (formerly 1250 Bishop Street), commonly known as the IBM Building or Tour de la Bourse (Stock Exchange Tower).
Montreal's height limit (historically 200 m to preserve Mount Royal sightlines) makes this the practical maximum. Other notable towers: 1000 de La Gauchetière (199 m, 1992), Place Ville Marie (188 m, 1962). The IBM Building's distinctive sloped crown and setback design make it a landmark in the Quartier International.
