RONA Toronto on Good Friday: Check Current Hours — COVID Era Changed Everything

RONA Holiday Hours: No Fixed Answer — Verify Before You Go

There is no universal "RONA Good Friday schedule." Since 2020, retail holiday hours in Toronto (and Ontario) have been volatile due to:

• COVID-19 Emergency Orders: Forced closures, capacity limits, staggered hours (2020–2022).
• Provincial Reopening Stages: Each stage changed permitted hours/days.
• Municipal Bylaws: Toronto's Retail Business Holidays Act exemptions vary by business type/size.
• Corporate Policy Shifts: RONA (owned by Lowe's Canada since 2016) may set chain-wide or store-specific holiday hours.
• Labor Agreements: Unionized locations (some RONA stores) have collective agreement holiday provisions.

✅ How to Find Out This Year

1. RONA Website: rona.ca → Store Locator → Select your store → "Hours" (often updated weekly).
2. Google Maps: Search "RONA [location]" → "Hours" → scroll to date (Good Friday). User-reported edits often current.
3. Call the Store: Phone number on website. Ask: "Are you open Good Friday? What hours?"
4. Social Media: Store's Facebook/Instagram — often posts holiday hours.

📅 General Pattern (Pre-COVID Baseline)

• Most RONA stores: Open Good Friday, reduced hours (e.g., 8 AM–6 PM vs. 7 AM–10 PM).
• Some locations: Closed (especially smaller, unionized, or in malls that close).
• Lowe's Canada (parent): Often aligns RONA hours with Lowe's — typically open holidays.

⚠️ Don't Assume

2020: Most closed. 2021: Mixed. 2022: Mostly open reduced. 2023: Near-normal. 2024: Unknown until posted.

Check your store this week. That's the only reliable answer.
