Lake Erie is one of the five Great Lakes of North America. It is bordered by the Canadian province of Ontario to the north, the U.S. states of Ohio to the south, Pennsylvania to the southeast, New York to the east, and Michigan to the west. Lake Erie is the fourth-largest lake by surface area of the Great Lakes, and the 11th-largest in the world.
