Kaslo Jazz Festival

The Kaslo Jazz Festival--officially known as the Kaslo Jazz Etc. Music Festival--is an annual jazz festival that takes place in the province of British Columbia in Canada.
  1. Period of Year

    • The Kaslo Jazz Festival takes place in the summer. It usually lasts for a whole weekend in late July or early August.

    Venue and Atmosphere

    • The Kaslo Jazz Festival is named after the village in which it takes place. Specifically, it is held in Kaslo Bay Park, where Kootenay Lake is located. The jazz musicians usually perform perched on a floating stage on the edge of the lake, surrounded by the wilderness scenery. Attendees can swim around the stage or choose to remain on land, where they can dance or relax on blankets.

    Rules and Regulations

    • Carry-in alcohol, glass, pets, illegal substances, vehicles and cliff diving are not allowed at the festival site. Although people are allowed to swim in the lake, they do so at their own risk, as there are no lifeguards on duty.
