The Kaslo Jazz Festival takes place in the summer. It usually lasts for a whole weekend in late July or early August.
The Kaslo Jazz Festival is named after the village in which it takes place. Specifically, it is held in Kaslo Bay Park, where Kootenay Lake is located. The jazz musicians usually perform perched on a floating stage on the edge of the lake, surrounded by the wilderness scenery. Attendees can swim around the stage or choose to remain on land, where they can dance or relax on blankets.
Carry-in alcohol, glass, pets, illegal substances, vehicles and cliff diving are not allowed at the festival site. Although people are allowed to swim in the lake, they do so at their own risk, as there are no lifeguards on duty.
