This building is not tall by today's standards but in 1887, the year it was built, the eight-story building was given the title of Canada's first skyscraper. It also had the city's first elevator. This building rose above Montreal's skyline for 12 years before taller buildings were erected. It still stands today and is often referred to as the Quebec Bank building.
