  1. Canadian Air & Space Museum

    • The Canadian Air & Space Museum, formerly known as the Toronto Aerospace Museum, is located in the original 1929 home of the de Havilland Aircraft of Canada Ltd., "one of Canada's most successful aircraft manufacturers," according to the museum's website. The site contains the oldest surviving aircraft factory in the country. It is also the birthplace of the first Canadian satellite, Alouette I, "which established Canada as the third nation in space when it launched in 1962."

    The Pacific Mall

    • Located in North Toronto, the Pacific Mall is the largest indoor Asian mall in North America. Containing over 400 stores that sell a variety of retail goods as well as cultural foods and entertainment, it is surrounding by a shopping complex with over 500 stores. Open year-round, the mall offers live stage performances and is known for its distinctively oriental design.

    CBC Museum

    • The CBC Museum, named for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, a national media outlet for news, sports and entertainment founded in 1936, features a collection of more than 4,000 artifacts depicting the company's broadcasting history. It is also the home of the Graham Spry Theatre, named after one of the nation's public broadcasting advocates.

    Toronto Zoo

    • At 710 acres, the Toronto Zoo has over 5,000 animals representing 500 species. It is open year-round and contains over six miles of walking trails. The animal displays are both indoor and outdoor, and there are a few special exhibits, including the zoo's 10-acre Tundra Trek, featuring a five-acre polar bear habitat, complete with an underwater viewing area. It also contains "Zellers Discovery Zone, featuring the Kids Zoo, an interactive children's wildlife experience, and Splash Island, an exciting two-acre water play area and the Waterside Theatre, home of exciting family entertainment," according to the zoo's website.
