When entering Canada as an immigrant, a list of goods brought with the visa holder must be supplied to Canadian immigration officials. A second list of items that will be shipped into the country after the immigrant has entered Canada must also be supplied.
Upon entering Canada, an immigrant must inform a Canadian official if they are carrying more than $10,000 in Canadian currency. Failing to declare more than $10,000 could result in a fine or jail time.
