Who controls Haiti?

The Haitian government controls Haiti. The government of Haiti is a semi-presidential republic based on a multi-party system. The president is both head of state and head of government and serves a five-year term. The prime minister is appointed by the president with the approval of the National Assembly and is the leader of the governing party. The National Assembly is Haiti's legislative branch and is made up of two chambers: the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. The Chamber of Deputies has 118 members who are elected by popular vote for a four-year term. The Senate has 30 members who are elected by popular vote for a six-year term with one-third of the members elected every two years.
