What is a Jamaica black?

Black Jamaican dogs are a breed of dog originating from Jamaica. They were developed on the island in the 19th century, used for hunting wild boar. They are also known as "Jamaican Curs". Their coat color can range from black to light brown. They are powerful, muscular and agile. Despite being a formidable hunter, the Black Jamaican dog is also quite friendly and loyal to its owner. Black Jamaicans are also extremely independent, and as such have a tendency to wander.
