Reaching Das Island from Abu Dhabi: Ferry, Helicopter, or Private Vessel

Das Island (100 mi NW of Abu Dhabi) is a restricted-access oil/gas industrial hub. Three access modes:

1. Ferry (Primary for Contractors)

• Terminals: Mina Zayed Port (20 min from Abu Dhabi city) or Al-Gharbia (Ruwais, 1.5 hr)
• Operator: Abu Dhabi Marine Services (ADMS)
• Duration: 25–30 min (Mina Zayed), 1 hr 15 min (Ruwais)
• Booking: Online or terminal; economy/business class; employer typically arranges
• Requirements: Valid Das Island permit, Emirates ID, medical clearance

2. Helicopter (Personnel Transfer)

• Operator: Nawah Energy Company (Das Island operator)
• From: Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH)
• Time: ~15 minutes
• Eligibility: Employees & authorized visitors only; not public
• Booking: Through employer/logistics coordinator

3. Private Vessel

• Possible but requires permits: Abu Dhabi Ports, Das Island Authority, Critical Infrastructure Protection
• Security clearance, passage plan, communication protocols
• Not practical for routine access

Critical Note

Das Island is not a tourist destination. No public facilities, hotels, or recreational access. Entry strictly controlled by ADNOC/Nawah. If you're not authorized personnel, you cannot visit.
