Originally named the Narrows Hotel when it opened in 1940, the inn was renamed for General MacArthur by President Roosevelt a year later. The MacArthur Inn recently has been renovated and provides a made-to-order country breakfast. Six of the inn's rooms are bed-and-breakfast rooms, and four rooms are for sports excursions, out-of-town mourners or corporate guests. The second floor houses 14 rooms that are categorized as singles, doubles and suites. Warmer spring weather brings on the Inn's Saturday barbecues and horse-drawn carriage rides.
