Hytop is a small town near the Alabama-Tennessee border in eastern Alabama, along Highway 79. Although there are no hotels, or any other forms of paid lodging, in Hytop, the nearby city of Scottsboro, located about 20 miles south, is home to a variety of chain hotels and inns. This is the closest city to Hytop large enough to support a tourist industry, due to its proximity to the largest lake in Alabama, Lake Guntersville.
America's Best Value Inn is situated in close proximity to such natural attractions as Russell Cave and Cathedral Caverns. The hotel is home to 50 guest rooms on two stories, each with cable television including HBO, refrigerator, microwave, iron and ironing board, coffeemaker and Internet access via wireless router. An outdoor pool is available to all patrons of the hotel, as are the guest laundry facilities and meeting rooms. Pets are welcome to stay at the hotel.
In close vicinity of the Comfort Inn and Suites is the largest lake in the state, Lake Guntersville, as well as the Unclaimed Baggage Center, a large shopping center selling marked-down retail items. The hotel itself is composed of 77 guest rooms, each with basic in-room amenities including microwaves, refrigerators, flat-screen TVs and coffeemakers. Also on-site are an indoor heated pool, hot tub, business center and fitness room. Pets are welcome at the Comfort Inn and Suites for an additional nightly fee. Jacuzzi suites are also available, as are over-sized king suites. The hotel's breakfast room, appointed with cheery colors, serves complimentary continental breakfasts every morning. Key West Inn is located along Highway 72 and Interstate 65, and is very close to Lake Guntersville.
The Hampton Inn and Suites in Scottsboro is home to 85 rooms of various sizes. Guest rooms come with one king bed or two queen beds, and basic in-room amenities, including 250 thread-count sheets, 37-inch flat screen TV with premium cable channels, free high-speed wireless Internet access, microwave and refrigerator. Whirlpool and overlarge suites are also available at the Hampton Inn. A fitness room and an outdoor swimming pool is also on location, as is a business center, safety deposit boxes, snack shop, coin laundry and breakfast area.
