A small town in the southwestern part of Alabama, Uriah is best known for its Cotton Patch Festival. This annual event in May features entertainment, food booths, arts and crafts, and antique tractor displays. Hotel accommodations are not available in Uriah, although plenty of lodging options approximately 20 miles both north and south of town.
The Muskogee Inn, 20 miles to the southeast of Uriah in Atmore, is owned by a band of Creek Indians, and is within walking distance of the Wind Creek Hotel and Casino. Located just off an exit off Interstate 65, the inn has a free shuttle to and from the casino. Highlights include an outdoor swimming pool with covered pavilions poolside. Approximately 20 miles to the northeast of Uriah, is the Days Inn Monroeville hotel that is three miles from the Vanity Fair Outlet and seven miles from the Monroe County Heritage Museum. A seasonal performance of the "To Kill a Mockingbird" play is also within seven miles. For recreational enjoyment, the hotel features its own pool and is seven miles from a golfing and tennis. With rooms listed as low as $66 a night in January 2011. The Days Inn serves a free breakfast each morning and for lunch and dinner three restaurants, including a catfish grill, are within 0.3 miles. Rooms with Jacuzzis are available.
The Wind Creek Casino & Hotel in Atmore is an all-inclusive resort with four restaurants and a spa with a full range of services such as massages, facials, body treatments and nail services. Another feature is a cooking studio with classes taught by famous chefs. The casino itself is more than 50,000 square feet including a bar with live entertainment and 1,600 square feet of gaming machines. The entertainment often features famous celebrities. Additional amenities include luxury bath items, 24-hour room service, an outdoor swimming pool and a lake. The rooms are listed as low as $99 per night in late January 2011.
The Best Western Inn has rooms that range from $69 to $120 a night, as of January 2011. Like the Days Inn, this hotel is also located in Monroeville, and is two miles from tennis, courts, five miles from the Heritage Museum, and eight miles from a golf course and fishing opportunities. The Best Western serves a free breakfast and there are three restaurants located directly across the street. Additional features include a shuttle to the local airport, a swimming pool and a fitness center.
