Tibbie is a small town located in a rural part of southwestern Alabama. It is approximately 10 miles from the Mississippi state line and approximately an hour and a half from the Gulf Coast. This area of the state is known for its fishing, hunting and boating activities. Tibbie does not have its own hotels, but lodging can be found as close as eight miles away.
The Citronella Inn, which is located 21 miles south of Tibbie, is in the town of Citronelle. It is within walking distance of Citronelle's downtown district that includes museums, a public library and an ice cream parlor. A lake and golf course can be reached in 10 minutes. The property also includes a cottage and motel. Rooms started in the $50 range in January of 2011. The Inn itself has six studio-style apartments that come with free utilities.
The Timberland Motel is in the town of Chatom, which is eight miles to the north of Tibbie. The rooms ranged in price from $40 to & 50 a night at the beginning of 2011. The hotel also has has short- and long-term rates for its two efficiency apartments. Some of the rooms have kitchens. Chatom itself is a small town and is the county seat of Washington County. The town is located along Route 17. Recreational opportunities are available approximately 10 miles to the north of town at the Chotaw National Forest and Bladon Springs State Park.
The Grand Avenue Inn & Cottages is situated less than 30 miles west of Tibbie in the town of Leakesville. Though it originally opened as a bed-and-breakfast establishment in 1996, it no longer serves breakfast. The Grande Avenue Inn & Cottages is situated one block from Leakesville's walking track and tennis courts. The Mill Creek Golf Course in Citronelle is 20 miles away. Guests can unwind on the inn's screened porch. Grand Avenue's rooms listed at $65 a night in January of 2011. Week-long stays are also available.
Located in the southern suburbs of Citronelle, the Colonial Inn Motel is a family-owned establishment with 10 units. The motel is located on Highway 45 and within three miles of the shops and restaurants in Citronelle. The rooms have standard amenities along with refrigerators and microwaves. As of January of 2011, the rooms started at $50 a night. Extended-stay rates were $240 for a week. A room with two double beds was $280 for a week. The city of Mobile and Mobile Bay are approximately 32 miles south of the Colonial Inn.
