What are hurricanes called in Papua New Guinea?

Hurricanes are not typically found in Papua New Guinea. Tropical cyclones are found there and are referred to locally as "baguls" or simply as "cyclones". These tropical cyclones often develop in the Coral Sea or Gulf of Carpentaria and can bring powerful winds, heavy rain, and storm surges to Papua New Guinea.
