Why is Belize not considered part of Latin America?

Belize is considered part of Latin America and the Caribbean by the United Nations and other international organizations. While it has some historical and cultural differences from other Latin American countries, such as its English language and its mix of European, African, and Mayan influences, it shares many commonalities with the region in terms of geography, demographics, politics, and economics.
