Where is the Maldives in world?

The Maldives is an archipelagic state located in the Indian Ocean, southwest of Sri Lanka and India, about 1,000 kilometres (620 mi) from the Asian mainland. It is composed of 26 ring-shaped atolls, which are made up of more than 1,000 coral islands. It has a population of about 540,542 (2021) and an area of 298 km2 (115 sq mi). The capital of the Maldives is Malé, which is also the country's largest city.
