Shop at George Town, the capitol of Grand Cayman Island. This quaint little shopping area offers tourist souvenirs, local wares like Caymanite jewelry, locally made goods and name brand items at low prices. Be sure to include time for a lunch or dinner by the water.
Stroll down walkways lined with beautiful flowers that are natives of the island at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Park. Here you can tour the 2.5 acres of property, see all the pretty flowers, relax by the lake and even have a garden tender make you a bracelet made of real angora picked right off the plant (see Resources below).
See 11,000 sea turtles, including the largest turtle who weighs 575 lbs., at the Cayman Turtle Farm on Boatswain's Beach. This 23-acre attraction offers a chance to touch and hold live sea turtles, witness baby turtles in the breeding pond, swim with sea life, sun bathe on the beach, and learn more about these fascinating creatures in the Education Center (see Resources below).
Visit the natural blowholes which are created by the water moving through natural tunnels cut in the rock by the coast. These spectacular fountains are quite a show--just don't stand too close unless you want to get soaking wet!
Snorkel at Stingray City. Many boat tours will take you out into the middle of the water where a sandbar with only three feet of water is home to well over two dozen stingray of all sizes. These sea creatures have congregated to the area after years of fisherman dumping scraps of fish in the water, and it has now become a must-see attraction. This is a unique experience not offered anywhere else in the world. Not only can you enjoy a relaxing boat ride, but you get to snorkel among stingray, touch and even feed them. Don't let fear make you miss this (see Resources below).
Go to the town of Hell just for the sake of its name. This extremely touristy attraction houses volcanic rock that can remind you of Hell, hence the name. Allow about 1/2 an hour to get the novelty of the place out your system, and be sure to buy hot sauce with a "Hell" themed label and send someone a postcard from Hell's post office.
Take a short airplane ride to Grand Cayman Island's Sister Islands, Cayman Brac and Little Brac.
