According to BBC Weather, you can expect nine hours of sunlight every day in the Bahamas during August. The sun provides constant warm temperatures during the month; averages in the capital city of Nassau lie between a minimum of 75 degrees Fahrenheit and a maximum of 89 degrees Fahrenheit.
Temperatures may be high but so is humidity, making it feel hot, sticky and uncomfortable, particularly if you are not accustomed to the conditions. Relative humidity can be as high as 82 percent in the morning, dropping to 70 percent in the afternoon and evening.
According to BBC Weather, the Bahamas can expect to experience an average of 14 wet days in August. Precipitation is therefore high, averaging 6.2 inches for the month, but most of this falls during short showers.
August is in the middle of hurricane season, which is the period between June 1 and November 30. The U. S. Department of State advises anyone visiting the Bahamas in hurricane season to ensure that they are familiar with the official preparedness tips before traveling and monitor weather forecasts during their vacation.
