Does trinidad and tobago use tidal energy?

Trinidad and Tobago does not have any large-scale tidal energy projects in operation or under construction. However, there has been some research into the potential for tidal energy in the country. In 2019, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) provided a grant to the University of the West Indies (UWI) to conduct a feasibility study on the potential for tidal energy in Trinidad and Tobago. The study found that there is a potential for tidal energy in some parts of the country, particularly in the north-eastern and south-western coasts of Trinidad. However, further studies and investments are needed to determine the economic viability of tidal energy projects in Trinidad and Tobago.
