The Cayman Islands are a wonderful Caribbean destination for families or couples looking for a romantic getaway. Seven Mile Beach is one of the most pristine and well reviewed beaches in the world, and it offers incredible snorkeling and diving through coral reefs. Thousands of species of fish can be found, as well as sea turtles. Grand Cayman is also home to Stingray City, a tourist attraction that allows guests to swim with and feed tame stingrays.
The Virgin Islands contain several different islands, most of which are official U.S. or British territories. The three most popular US Virgin Islands are St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John. The British Virgin Islands include Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, Anegada and more than 50 smaller islands. Like most Caribbean destinations, people come to the Virgin Islands to experience laid-back island life and enjoy fun in the sun on the islands' many beaches. If you can, spend some time at Trunk Bay on St. John, which is located on a protected national park and includes an underwater snorkeling trail.
The Bahamas consist of 29 islands, including Bimini, Andros Islan, and Nassau. Many travelers come to Nassau to stay at Atlantis, the massive resort that includes a water slide through a shark tank, huge aquariums and habitats, swimming with dolphins and much more. Andros Islands is home to the world's third largest barrier reef, and Bimini offers some of the best big game fishing in the world. Visitors to the Bahamas can easily see multiple islands via ferry or a quick flight. Other popular activities include touring rum distilleries, snorkeling, hiking, horseback riding and tasting conch, which is a local delicacy.
